ANNOUNCEMENT OF EMPLOYEE POSITION VACANCY

JOB TITLE:            Personnel Technician, Confidential Employee

LOCATION:           Sierra County Office of Education, 109 Beckwith Road, Room #3, Loyalton, CA

SALARY &             $3,637 – $4,009 per month beginning wage subject to related experience and qualifications

BENEFITS:            Health insurance, sick leave, vacation, CalPERS retirement

ASSIGNMENT:      Full- time (8 hour/day~40 hour/week); 12 month employee; Begin mid-December 2018

DESCRIPTION:     Under the direct supervision of the business manager, serves as the recruitment officer and personnel record-keeper for employees of the Sierra County Office of Education and Sierra-Plumas Joint Unified School District.  Maintains personnel files and health insurance records,  maintains credentialing records and monitors assignments, maintains substitute lists, prepares job vacancy notices, maintains bargaining unit agreements, coordinates and oversees workers compensation and transportation programs. Works in a typical business office setting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:    Minimum two (2) years’ experience in personnel management, secretarial and/or practice in an advanced level administrative office position. Prefer person with university degree in human resource management, business or related field of study. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have experience with using office computer and utilization of various software programs. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in the English language as well as understand verbal and written instructions in order to efficiently organize and accomplish assigned tasks. Must possess the ability to accurately compose, prepare and/or edit various types of documents. Must have organizational and professional skills to successfully communicate, cooperate and collaborate with administrative, school, office personnel and the public. Requires bending, reaching overhead, kneeling, standing and sitting. Must strictly adhere to confidentiality standards.  A Department of Justice fingerprint clearance and tuberculin (TB) clearance are required prior to employment.
