Good evening LHS Students and parents. This is Megan Meschery with your weekly All Call.
I hope you had a great weekend and are feeling refreshed as we head into week four of being back to school.
Back-to-School Night is Wednesday, September 29th from 6:00 to 7:00. We will begin in the gym with a quick message and then you’ll be off to follow your student’s class schedule and meet their teachers. As masks are mandatory in the school, please come with your masks on and if you don’t have one, we’ll have some at the door for you.
Our Football Homecoming Game is Saturday, October 9th at 1:00. Dress up days will be the week before and we’ll have a rally on Friday.
The Practice SAT will be given on October 26th and we are extending the sign-up deadline to this Friday. The cost is. $18 dollars. The exam is extremely helpful for learning about the test and what to expect on the SAT. Although many colleges no longer require the SAT or ACT, some do use them for course placement.
Progress Reports will be sent out at the beginning of next week and we want to encourage all students to get in any late work they may have and be sure to connect with their teachers directly if they have any questions or worries about their grades at this point. Also, we will be doing grade checks for all athletes and club members on Tuesdays. Students will not be able to attend away events or leave school early if the “F” is in any class that they might miss due to participating in the event.
As a reminder from our bus drivers, only students who have signed up with the district transportation office can ride the bus. Due to the Covid pandemic, we are no longer able to allow friends or family with notes to ride the bus if they are not already assigned to that bus. Also, when picking up or dropping off your student, please do not park in front of the school and instead park in a parking spot to come in.
In sports news: congratulations to the JV volleyball team on their win against Sierra Lutheran and great job football on your strong efforts as well! Our teams are having terrific seasons, and most importantly having a great time!
